Evaluation of Alternatives (EoA) is a broad category of analysis and assessment approaches that involve a comparison of two or more defined alternatives, or courses of action (COAs). These include Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), Business Case Analysis (BCA), Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA), Economic Analysis, Market Research and Analysis, Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) Analysis, Functional Needs Analysis (FNA), and Functional Solutions Analysis (FSA). MITRE supports DoD and Federal agencies in the development of these analysis as appropriate according to the phase, the need, and the particulars of the program.
