Benchmarking

Benchmarking is a time-tested technique for understanding how referent and “best-of-breed” organizations evaluate their current level of performance. When directly relevant comparisons can be made to organizations that are very similar, benchmarking can support identification of performance gaps and improvement targets. The EBIA CoP has developed a suite of vignettes to illustrate the process of benchmarking with an integrated Early Warning System (EWS) in the form of a Response Urgency Matrix (RUM) that notifies process owners and recommends default next steps based on the current and historical benchmarking results.
